Jonas Mva Mva – ‘Literally born under a cocoa tree.’ in Cameroon; Jonas has over 30 years of experience in the cocoa sector. He is known as someone who celebrates and is driven by the entrepreneurial cocoa farmer.
Prior to this, he worked at CEMOI as Director of Sustainability and with IDH between 2010 and 2014 as Senior Cocoa Program Manager. He served as the Country Representative for STCP (Sustainable Tree Crops Program) in Cameroon for 10 years. This program set up by cocoa industry and WCF to improve cocoa farmers GAP and livelihoods. He has also worked as the Project Manager and Acting Country Representative with the Catholic Relief Services for 12 years working on rural development projects in Central Africa (Chad, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic) and as a Country Director of INADES Formation in Cameroon focused on Adult Education, Agric. training and rural development.
He has set up a national development NGO called ODECO (Organisme de Developpment d’Etude de formation et de Conseil) in Cameroon and co-managed it for 10 years.
He has an MBA in Law and Economics from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon, in addition to many training courses in Europe and US.
